Ace Virtual Shooting Appoints Peter Peterson as Chief Technology Officer
Seasoned VR engineering leader joins Ace Virtual Shooting to lead product development and accelerate the company's vision of becoming the Home of Shooting
Dallas, Tex., May 8, 2025 – Ace Virtual Shooting (AceXR, LLC), the leading VR handgun shooting simulator and growing home for shooting, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter C. Peterson as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately.
In his role as CTO, Peterson will lead Ace's engineering team and drive the technical strategy behind the company's global platform, including its immersive VR app, companion mobile app, and full suite of community and skill-building features. He will work closely with the leadership team to accelerate product development and deliver an exceptional user experience for the rapidly expanding Ace community of consumers.
"Peter is exactly the kind of engineering leader we need at this stage of our journey," said Conor Donahue, CEO and co-founder of Ace Virtual Shooting. "He brings seasoned expertise building VR products at scale. He knows what it takes to grow a high-performing engineering team at a fast-moving company. I'm thrilled to have him leading our technical vision as we create the home of shooting and deliver an incredible experience for our Ace members."
Peterson is a veteran of the VR/XR industry with a track record of building world-class engineering teams at high-growth companies. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at ArborXR, the leading enterprise XR device management platform trusted by over 60 Fortune 500 companies. He joined ArborXR early in its growth phase, scaling the engineering organization from a lean team into a department supporting some of the largest enterprise XR deployments in the world. Prior to ArborXR, Peterson held a senior role at HP where he led the team responsible for the Windows Mixed Reality ecosystem, including the HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition — the first biometrically enhanced XR headset built for enterprise learning — and helped develop one of the first AI inference engines for real-time biometric insights in VR environments.
"Ace is building something genuinely special," said Peterson. "The product has an incredible foundation of features, and the passion of the Ace member community is energizing and growing fast. The opportunity to apply everything I've learned building VR platforms at scale — and to do it serving a mission I believe in — is exactly the challenge I was looking for. I can't wait to get to work."
